COMPASS Design : Arch-Control Series Sandals/Slipper (Midnight Blue) MEN
“Stable Steps, Confident Strides” – COMPASS
In 2025, ZABWAY collaborated with a team of professional foot physiotherapists to launch a brand-new flagship arch-control sandal. Arch-Control Series – COMPASS is an evolution of the arch-control concept, designed specifically for seniors and individuals with lower limb muscle weakness. It enhances the traditional triple-arch support system with improved stability and balance tailored for walking.
The COMPASS is developed based on the 3 Rocker Concept, which divides the gait cycle into three phases according to foot structure and function: heel strike, ankle movement, and toe-off. This model focuses on strengthening balance and stability in the first two phases to promote safer and more efficient walking.
Designed specifically for Asian foot shapes, the sandal features a widened functional outsole that increases ground contact for better grip and safety across various terrains. The sole is crafted from EVA blended with rubber, with rubber usage reduced by 70% to significantly reduce weight while maintaining safety and durability. 4.5mm deep drainage grooves in the outsole allow for faster water dispersion while walking, enhancing safety and confidence in wet conditions.
【Key Features】
Low-front, high-heel sole design
Upturned toe for smoother motion
Deep heel cup for added stability
Thickened toe crest for grip

Wide functional outsole for enhanced ground contact
【Notice】 ・This sandal features an arch-control design. An adjustment period of 3–14 days may be needed when first worn.
【FAQ】 Q: What’s the difference between Arch-Control and Arch-Support? A: Arch-Support products focus on directly supporting the arch. However, overly rigid support can prevent the plantar fascia from recovering properly. When the fascia is already damaged, excessive support can continue to strain it, leading to worsened conditions.
Arch-Control, on the other hand, works by adjusting the angles between the forefoot and heel to prevent excessive arch collapse. When stepping down, the arch naturally flattens. If the foot is already misaligned, this collapse becomes more severe. Arch-Control helps prevent over-collapse, guiding the foot toward better alignment and healthy motion.
