COMPASS Design : Arch-Control Series Sandals/Slipper (Sky Blue) WOMEN
"Stable Steps, Confident Strides" – COMPASS
In 2025, ZABWAY collaborated with a team of professional foot physiotherapists to develop a brand-new flagship arch-control sandal: Arch-Control Series – COMPASS.
This model builds upon the concept of arch control and is specially designed for seniors and individuals with lower limb weakness. It enhances the original triple-arch support system with added stability and balance.
Based on the three key phases of walking — heel strike, ankle motion, and toe-off — the COMPASS incorporates the "3 Rocker Concept" grounded in foot structure and biomechanics. The COMPASS specifically reinforces balance and stability in the first two phases of the gait cycle.
The outsole is ergonomically crafted to fit the Asian foot shape, with a widened design that increases ground contact area, ensuring stability and safety across various terrains. Made from a combination of EVA and rubber, the outsole reduces rubber usage by 70%, significantly lowering the weight of the sandal without compromising on safety — reducing the burden on the feet. Additionally, 4.5mm deep drainage grooves allow for quicker water dispersion while walking or moving, keeping each step safer and more secure.
【Notice】 ・This model is designed with arch support. An adjustment period of 3–14 days may be required when first worn.
【FAQ】 Q: What’s the difference between Arch-Control and Arch-Support? A: Arch-Support products focus on directly supporting the foot arch. However, excessive support can hinder proper recovery of the plantar fascia. When the fascia is already damaged, continuous strain from over-supportive footwear can worsen the condition.
In contrast, Arch-Control products work by adjusting the angles of the forefoot and heel to prevent the arch from collapsing excessively. When we step down, the arch naturally flattens. If there is already misalignment, this flattening can worsen. Arch-Control helps prevent such over-collapse, guiding the foot toward proper alignment and arch function.
